SKINDRED recently inked a deal with DoubleCross, the rock/metal imprint of Cooking Vinyl, for the release of the upcoming CD. The band spent time in Roni Size's Bristol studio, writing and recording in preparation for the new album.
DoubleCross has stated that it intends to build on SKINDRED's already credible global profile, which will include a worldwide campaign coinciding with their new release.
DoubleCross general manager Phil Hopwood said: "SKINDRED are a genuinely unique band. They sound like no one else, and it's really exciting to be working with them. We feel there is huge potential for SKINDRED internationally whilst continuing to develop their U.K. profile."
SKINDRED's manager, Seven Webster from 7PM Management, added: "I love what Cooking Vinyl have done with acts like THE PRODIGY globally, and I have known Phil since he was one of the best label managers at Vital (now PIAS UK). To be working with this combined tour de force is for me the perfect team to help take SKINDRED to the next level."
DoubleCross was launched in 2012 with Hopwood's mission to sign the world’s hottest rock and metal acts.
SKINDRED's distinctive mix of reggae, metal, punk and electronic has favored them throughout their career, having won Kerrang!'s Devotion Award and Metal Hammer's Golden God for Best Live Act in the past.
"Union Black" came out in April 2011 via BMG/7PM Records. The CD was recorded at Britannia Row Studios in London.
